The number of Internet connected devices has already by far surpassed the number of human beings. The ecosystem of these devices, collectively called Internet of Things, is a source of tremendous amount of data and creates unheard challenges for researchers and companies. This presentation talks about a new platform that provides support for secure and reliable ingestion of IoT data into a Hadoop-based Cloud platform. The platform provides tools for ensuring the level of security by supporting the execution of mitigating measures, such as automated exclusion of misbehaving devices and dropping traffic from source of DDoS attacks. The presentation includes design and architecture of the platform, and experiments that tested its functionality.

Short Bio:
I am a Software Engineer at Logical Clocks AB. Recently, I graduated MSc degrees in Computer Science from Technical University of Berlin and Technical University of Madrid. During the degree, I worked as a Research Assistant at the INET group working on alternative ways of dealing with back-pressure in Apache Flink. Previous to that, I worked as a developer at Goldman Sachs, building scalable data pipelines with Spark and Hadoop. Before that, I worked as a C developer, building software for IoT and M2M devices.
